How to Clone Your Voice with ChatGPT

ChatGPT can help you create a reusable copy of your voice when the Creative Claw app is connected. You provide one clean recording, approve the voice-cloning consent, and choose either ElevenLabs or Cartesia. CreativeClaw stores the sample privately and attaches the provider-hosted clone to a reusable Character.

After that, you can ask ChatGPT for a voiceover in your voice without recording every line yourself.

What you need

• ChatGPT with the Creative Claw app enabled
• A quiet room and a phone or microphone
• A 1 to 2 minute recording in your primary language
• The right to clone and use the recorded voice
• A CreativeClaw workspace with a credit purchase, which unlocks reusable voice cloning

Only clone your own voice or a voice whose speaker has given explicit, informed permission.

Step 1: connect CreativeClaw to ChatGPT

Open the apps menu in the ChatGPT message composer, search for Creative Claw, enable it, and sign in. The full connection steps are in the ChatGPT setup guide.

Step 2: record a useful voice sample

Record 1 to 2 minutes of clean solo speech in your primary language. Speak as you normally would, but include several natural tones so the model hears more of your range. For example:

• a calm introduction
• an upbeat product recommendation
• a serious explanation
• an excited reaction
• a warm, conversational closing

Keep the microphone distance steady. Avoid music, other speakers, room echo, long silences, and heavy noise reduction. A natural recording is more useful than a theatrical performance.

Expand it in your own words until the recording is between one and two minutes.

Step 3: ask ChatGPT to upload and clone it

Attach the audio file to the conversation, then use a prompt like this:

Use Creative Claw to upload this recording as a private voice-cloning sample.
Create a reusable voice-only Character called "My Voice" and clone the voice
with ElevenLabs. The recording is my voice, and I explicitly consent to its
processing and cloning for use in my CreativeClaw workspace.

To use Cartesia instead, replace “ElevenLabs” with “Cartesia.” ChatGPT should import the attachment through CreativeClaw’s private voice-sample flow, ask for explicit consent if it has not already received it, and create the clone. The sample does not need a public link.

CreativeClaw supports both providers:

If you are unsure, tell ChatGPT what you plan to create and ask it to recommend one. Providers are selected explicitly and are not silently switched.

Step 4: generate speech in your cloned voice

Once ChatGPT confirms that the Character is ready, ask for a first test:

Keep it warm, natural, and conversational.

Then refine the result in plain language. You can ask for a slower pace, more warmth, a calmer delivery, or a different emotional direction. Keep using the saved Character rather than uploading the original sample again.

Privacy and consent

CreativeClaw keeps voice-cloning samples in private storage and uses the chosen supported provider to create a provider-hosted clone. Do not upload a recording merely because you found it online or received it in a message. The speaker must understand and approve the cloning and intended use.

You can review the voice-cloning terms and privacy details. Deleting the Character revokes the saved voice through CreativeClaw and removes its associated provider copies and private samples.
